Thanks for that!! Didn't realize that Elements does 4K? The Elements never really appealed to me but will give this a try, it might be sufficient for what I am trying to do here. Other than that, it actually let's you test out all the features in the software, unlike some other trial versions of other video editors. The only problem it has is that any video that is rendered using it, will have a big Trialware Watermark across the video. You can download a fully functional trial version from Adobe for free, and test drive it for 30 days. It has some good basic audio editing tools too, but no full featured audio editor.

Premiere Elements has lots of the great advanced tools from the full version of Premiere, including the awesome FAST COLOR CORRECTOR for adjusting white balance, and the useful HIGHLIGHTS/SHADOWS tool. Definitely not as intuitive or easy for me to use as Premiere Elements.

I found the consumer Sony version of Vegas, Sony Movie Studio Platinum, to be much more awkward to use. Yet, it looks great when viewed on YouTube: I exported this clip below at just 42 Mbps to save on the file size for uploading to YouTube. You can even adjust it to use whatever bitrate you want. The 4k export option can be highly fine tuned.

I'm having a very good experience using the current Adobe Premiere Elements 13 with 4k video from my Sony FDR-AX100.

So any advice from real users would be great, not interested in 'I haven't used this myself, but hear it's great.' but really, really interested in people who have actually done this! Reasonably priced I mean that Sony Vegas etc is possibly a bit over the top, I don't want to do extensive colour grading etc, but be able to edit maybe with proxy preview to keep the software from crashing. I read some reviews online but want to ask you guys what software would be suitable and reasonably priced. ДЇor stills I use Capture One Pro, but video is not that important I guess at this stage, a matter of time as well. I normally do stills only, but have used video editing software in the past and have used Pinnacle Video Studio and then briefly DaVinci Resolve Light. I just bought an LX100 and want to edit the 4K video files.
